One of Germany's most beloved traditional breads, our Bauernbrot is a hearty farmhouse loaf made with sourdough, wheat flour, and rye flour using a long, slow fermentation process. The result is a beautifully rustic bread with a crisp crust, a moist, flavorful crumb, and the rich character that has made German breads famous throughout the world.
This traditional loaf is versatile enough for breakfast with butter and jam, hearty sandwiches, soups and stews, or the classic German Abendbrot with cold cuts, cheese, and pickles.
Made by hand in small batches and naturally fermented with our sourdough culture, this bread develops exceptional flavor and keeps well for several days.
